walktHRough – Terms & Conditions
Last updated: September 2026
These Terms & Conditions apply to purchases of HR document packs, templates, guidance materials and HR support services from walktHRough.
Please read them carefully before making a purchase. By placing an order, you confirm that you have read and agree to these Terms & Conditions.
1. About walktHRough
walktHRough provides practical HR documents, templates, guidance and HR support to small businesses.
Our products and services are designed to help employers manage everyday workplace matters in a straightforward and practical way.
Contact: hello@walkthroughhr.co.uk
Website: walkthroughhr.co.uk
We will need to add your legal trading identity and business/contact address here before launch. Online sellers are required to provide specified business and contact information; I would not simply omit it because you work from home.
2. Business customers only
walktHRough products and services are intended for business use only.
By purchasing from us, you confirm that you are acting wholly or mainly for purposes relating to your trade, business, craft or profession.
Our HR support is provided from the perspective of the employer. We do not provide advice to employees about claims or disputes against their employer.
If we reasonably believe that a purchase has been made for personal rather than business purposes, we reserve the right to decline the order and issue a refund before the product or service is supplied.
3. What we provide
walktHRough provides:
- downloadable HR document and template packs;
- practical HR guides and supporting materials;
- one-to-one HR support sessions; and
- HR document review services.
The exact contents of each product or service are described on the relevant product page at the time of purchase.
Our templates and guidance are intended to provide a practical HR starting point. They are not bespoke legal documents unless expressly stated otherwise and must be reviewed and adapted to suit your organisation and circumstances.
4. HR information – important
walktHRough provides HR guidance, not legal advice.
We are not a law firm and do not act as solicitors, barristers or legal representatives.
Our documents and guidance should not be treated as a substitute for specialist legal advice where this is appropriate.
Employment situations can differ considerably depending on the facts involved. Particular care may be required in matters involving, for example, dismissal, discrimination, disability and reasonable adjustments, whistleblowing, redundancy, TUPE, pregnancy or family-related rights, contractual disputes or threatened/ongoing legal proceedings.
Where we believe a matter falls outside the appropriate scope of our HR support, we may recommend that you obtain specialist advice.
5. Keeping HR documents up to date
Employment legislation, statutory rates, case law and official guidance can change.
Where applicable, walktHRough documents will contain a version or review date showing when they were last reviewed.
The information contained within a purchased pack reflects our understanding of relevant UK employment requirements and guidance at the date stated in the document.
Purchase does not include automatic or lifetime updates unless this is expressly stated as part of the product.
You are responsible for checking that a document remains current and appropriate before using or relying upon it, particularly where time has passed since your purchase.
If you are unsure whether your version is current, you may contact us and provide the version number or review date.
6. Personalising your documents
Our templates are designed to be edited.
You are responsible for:
- entering the correct information about your business;
- selecting appropriate options where choices are provided;
- removing drafting notes, prompts and highlighting before issuing documents;
- ensuring that any changes you make are appropriate;
- checking that the document reflects your own contractual arrangements and working practices; and
- using the document appropriately in the circumstances.
walktHRough cannot be responsible for changes, additions or deletions made to a template after it has been supplied.
7. Purchasing HR packs
The price displayed on the product page is the price payable for the product, subject to any clearly stated applicable taxes or charges.
Payment must be made in full before an HR pack is supplied.
An order is not considered ready for fulfilment until payment has been successfully received and confirmed.
You are responsible for providing a correct email address when placing your order.
8. Delivery of HR packs
walktHRough HR packs are digital products. No physical product will be posted.
Following confirmed payment, your purchased pack will be supplied using a secure download link sent to the email address provided with your order.
We aim to send your download link within 24 hours of cleared payment.
The 24-hour period is a maximum normal fulfilment period rather than a guarantee that every order will take 24 hours. Orders may be supplied sooner.
If there is a problem supplying your order, we will contact you using the details provided.
The method used to provide the secure download link may change from time to time.
This is good to have explicitly in the terms because online sellers should explain delivery arrangements and timing before purchase.
9. Problems accessing your download
You are responsible for downloading and securely storing the files supplied to you.
If your download link does not work or you experience a genuine technical problem accessing your purchased files, contact hello@walkthroughhr.co.uk and we will take reasonable steps to provide access to your purchase.
Loss or deletion of files by the customer after successful delivery does not create an automatic entitlement to a refund.
10. Licence and permitted use
When you purchase a walktHRough document pack, you are purchasing a licence to use the documents within the purchasing business. Ownership of walktHRough's underlying intellectual property is not transferred to you.
You may:
- download and store the documents;
- edit them for your own business;
- reproduce templates as reasonably required for internal HR use;
- issue appropriate documents and policies to your employees; and
- retain completed copies as part of your business and employee records.
For example, you may retain the original Return-to-Work Form and create a fresh copy each time your business needs one.
You must not:
- resell any walktHRough document;
- distribute the templates to another business;
- share your purchased pack so another organisation can avoid purchasing its own copy;
- upload the templates to a public website or shared template library;
- remove walktHRough ownership information for the purpose of reselling or redistributing the material;
- reproduce the documents as part of another commercial HR/template product; or
- use walktHRough materials to provide paid HR/template services to third parties.
Unless expressly agreed otherwise, one purchase provides a licence for one purchasing business/legal entity.
11. Refunds – digital HR packs
Because our HR packs contain digital materials capable of being downloaded, copied and retained, refunds will not normally be offered simply because you:
- change your mind after receiving the files;
- decide you no longer need the pack;
- do not use the documents; or
- expected something different where the product was accurately described before purchase.
However, this does not affect any rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
If you receive the wrong pack, cannot access the files because of a fault on our side, or believe that the product is materially different from its description, please contact us so that we can investigate and, where appropriate, put the issue right.
Because you're proposing a B2B-only shop, I wouldn't clutter this section with consumer cooling-off wording unless you decide to accept consumers. If you later do sell to consumers, we'd need to revisit the checkout process: UK online-selling guidance has specific consent and acknowledgement requirements before digital content is supplied during the cancellation period.
12. HR support services
Payment for HR support is required in full before support is provided.
The scope and duration of the service purchased will be shown on the relevant product page.
HR support is based upon the information made available to us.
You are responsible for providing information that is, to the best of your knowledge, accurate, complete and relevant.
Our guidance may change if additional or different facts subsequently become known.
A consultation purchases our professional time and HR guidance. It does not guarantee:
- a particular answer;
- the outcome you would prefer;
- that an employee will accept a decision;
- that a dispute or claim will not arise; or
- the outcome of any internal process, tribunal or legal proceedings.
13. Refunds for HR support
Once an HR consultation has been fully provided, a refund will not normally be given simply because you disagree with the guidance provided, decide not to follow it or do not achieve the outcome you hoped for.
This does not affect rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded, including where applicable requirements concerning the reasonable care and skill with which services are provided.
If walktHRough is unable to provide a paid consultation, you will be offered an alternative appointment or a refund.
If, before the consultation, we determine that the matter is outside the scope of the service or requires specialist legal advice that we cannot appropriately provide, we may decline the matter and refund the amount paid for the consultation.
14. Cancelling or rescheduling HR appointments
I'd use the following commercially:
More than 24 hours before the appointment:
You may cancel for a refund or move the appointment to another available time.
Less than 24 hours before the appointment:
Payments are normally non-refundable, although we may allow the appointment to be rescheduled at our discretion.
Failure to attend:
If you do not attend your appointment and have not contacted us beforehand, the session will normally be treated as used.
Cancellation by walktHRough:
If we need to cancel, you may choose another available appointment or receive a refund.
We should avoid punitive cancellation provisions; current CMA guidance emphasises fair and transparent contractual terms.
15. HR document review service
Where you purchase a document review, the product description will state the maximum size and type of document included.
Unless otherwise stated, the standard service covers one document of up to five pages.
The service is an HR review and does not constitute formal legal review or certification.
If the document is substantially longer, more complex or outside the advertised scope, we will contact you before carrying out additional chargeable work.
You will not be charged an additional amount without agreement.
16. Confidentiality
We will treat information provided in connection with HR support as confidential, subject to our legal obligations and our Privacy Notice.
You should provide only the information reasonably necessary for us to assist you.
Where possible, please avoid providing unnecessary employee names, medical information or other sensitive personal information.
If sensitive or confidential information is required, we may provide instructions about how it should be supplied.
17. Data protection
We process personal information in accordance with our Privacy Notice.
Information about how we collect, use, retain and share personal data will be provided separately.
The ICO confirms that businesses handling personal information such as names and email addresses will generally need a privacy notice explaining matters including why information is processed, retention and sharing.
This means we need to build your Privacy Notice next — it shouldn't just be buried inside these T&Cs.
18. Liability
This is the section where I wouldn't try to write an aggressive “walktHRough accepts no liability whatsoever” clause. That isn't the protection it appears to be and can create enforceability problems.
I'd use:
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so.
walktHRough will provide its services with reasonable care and skill.
Our templates and guidance are general HR resources and are provided on the basis that customers will consider their own circumstances, provide accurate information and seek specialist advice where appropriate.
To the extent permitted by law, walktHRough will not be responsible for indirect or consequential losses, loss of profit, loss of business, loss of anticipated savings or losses resulting from a customer's alteration, misuse or inappropriate application of our documents or guidance.
We will not be responsible for loss arising from material information being withheld from us or information supplied to us being materially inaccurate or incomplete.
Nothing we provide constitutes a guarantee that a particular employment decision, process or outcome will be free from challenge.
For an actual monetary liability cap, such as “our aggregate liability shall not exceed £X”, I'd have a UK solicitor approve the final wording rather than inventing a number ourselves. Business contracts can limit certain implied rights where the restriction satisfies the applicable reasonableness test, but enforceability depends on the term and circumstances.
19. Website availability
We aim to keep our website and services available but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access.
We may temporarily suspend or alter the website where reasonably necessary for maintenance, security, technical issues or updates.
If a website issue affects an order you have already paid for, please contact us and we will take reasonable steps to fulfil the purchase.
20. Changes to products and services
We may update, replace or withdraw products and services from time to time.
Changes made to a product after your purchase do not automatically entitle you to an updated copy unless updates were expressly included as part of the product you purchased.
Nothing in this section permits us to materially change a product or service after you have purchased it but before we have supplied it without your agreement.
21. Complaints
If something hasn't gone as expected, please contact:
Please include your name, business name, order number where applicable and a brief explanation of the issue.
We will review the matter and aim to respond within a reasonable timeframe.
22. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time to reflect changes to our business, products, services or applicable requirements.
The terms applying to a purchase will normally be those in force when the order was placed.
The latest version will be available on our website with its review date.
23. Governing law
For your B2B model, I'd provisionally use:
These Terms & Conditions and any dispute or claim arising from them shall be governed by the laws of England and Wales.
The courts of England and Wales shall have jurisdiction in relation to disputes arising from these Terms, subject to any mandatory legal requirements that apply.
